Art event ‘Southern Soul’
We are having our 10th year anniversary of Vietnam Art House (VAH) this summer at our gallery in The Hague. The theme of this event is ‘Southern Soul’. We are focusing on the art solo-exhibition of acclaimed artist Nguyen Thanh Binh.

Company fined for releasing untreated waste water
ĐẮK NÔNG — Đắk Mil Bazan Stone Company in the Central Highland province of Đắk Nông has received a fine of VNĐ108 million (US$4,600) from the local authority for releasing untreated waste water.

Hundreds of local residents in Thuận Bắc Hamlet, Thuận An Commune submitted a petition to Đắk Mi District’s People’s Committee regarding the problem.
The waste water containing sediment had been polluting groundwater.
Tests found the water was not safe to be discharged into the environment.
Lý Chủ Hưng, the company's director, said the water released was used during stone cutting and sharpening and only contained stone dust and heavy metal. The company did not mix any chemicals or compounds with the water.
The company has since compensated local households.
A company representative said they were working on a waste water treatment system before it resumes operation.
